The routing dbf2csv at http://www.leydesdorff.net/software/dbf2csv/dbf2csv.exe prompts for the name of an input file with the extension .dbf. The name should be no more than 10 characters. For example: “matrix”. The program then reads “matrix.dbf” and generates “matrix.csv” (with variable names in the top line) and “matrix.txt” (without this first line). Both files are comma-delimited and can be read by programs such as Excel or SPSS.
